The Silco Sleeve® firesleeve is made of knitted or braided high-quality E-glass fiberglass yarns in a flexible substrate, that are coated with a high-grade, fully cured silicone elastomer. It is designed to protect against the hazards of intense heat continuously to 500°F (260°C) and occasional direct flame and molten splashes at 2200°F (1200°C) and remains resistant to hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, and fuels. This firesleeve insulates against energy loss in piping and hosing, protects employees from dangerous burns, and ensures wires, hoses, and cables are safe from flames and molten splashes.
Braided Silco Sleeve® Firesleeves
Braided aerospace grade firesleeves utilize a braided interior fiberglass sleeve to provide the highest level of protection in critical areas that may potentially be exposed to intense fire conditions. A common application includes oil lines inside engine compartments. In addition to serving aerospace applications that require the SAE AS1072D standard, braided firesleeves are also MSHA accepted (MSHA IC-358/01) for use in underground mines. Braided firesleeves are commonly used in a variety of other heavy industries, including automotive, maritime, locomotive, OEM, and oil and gas.
