Tetraglas®, Tetraglas 3000®, Tetraglas-T® 500, and Ceramic Cloths

Our fiberglass cloth, silica cloth, tacky cloth, and ceramic cloth products protect against heat and fire and are available with several specialty coatings. High-temperature cloths are commonly used as welding blankets, welding curtains, fire blankets, expansion joints, insulation pad covers, gasketing solutions, and hose covers. Our fiberglass, silica, and ceramic cloths are also resistant to most acids and alkalis at high temperatures.

More Information

Tetraglas® Cloths

Tetraglas® cloths are woven from high-quality E-glass fiberglass yarns and can be coated with vermiculite, PTFE, or graphite. Fiberglass cloth will not burn and is suitable for use in applications with temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C). Silver silicone impregnated fiberglass cloth and reflective foil coatings are available in select thicknesses and widths. Style 60 is MSHA accepted (MSHA-BC-109) for use in underground mines.

Tetraglas 3000® Cloths

Tetraglas 3000® cloths are silica cloths woven from amorphous silica yarns that contain a minimum silicon dioxide of 96% for superior performance. Silica cloth will not burn and is suitable for use in continuous temperatures up to 1800°F (980°C). Several styles and thicknesses are offered in either a satin or plain weave, and this amorphous silica cloth is also offered with a red silicone coating.

Tetraglas-T® 500 Tacky Cloths

Tetraglas-T® 500 Cloths are tacky cloths, or gasket cloths, made from texturized fiberglass yarn that is coated and impregnated with a proprietary uncured natural rubber (aqueous or solvent-based). This tacky cloth is offered with and without a brass wire insert, which adds strength and density. Gasket cloth is suitable for applications up to 500°F (260°C). This type of material is often used where rough or uneven flanges need sealing, and many gaskets, tadpole tapes, and groove packings are made from tacky cloth for use in the boiler industry. Our cloth can be dusted, PTFE dipped, coated in graphite, or coated with red and black color. Tetraglas-T® 500 cloth and gaskets are meant to be cured in application.

Ceramic Cloths

Plain woven ceramic fiber cloth supports the highest continuous operating temperature of 2300°F (1260°C). Ceramic fiber cloth is manufactured from alumina-silica ceramic fiber and is free from asbestos. This cloth possesses excellent chemical stability as well as strong corrosion and thermal shock resistance. Glass or Inconel® inserts can also be added to increase cloth strength and durability.
